Credit scores do not increase "fast" - increase comes at a slow but steady pace as you pay off your debts on time, open new accounts and pay them, etc. The two most important factors in your credit score (making up over 60% of your score) are payment history and credit availability. Your credit history is just that - how have you paid your bills in the past. The larger loan/account that you are delinquent on, the heavier weight it carries. Credit availability or debt amount counts up how much you use credit and compares it to income. Your debt should be under 30% of your income, with lower amounts better. This factor also compares amount of debt to available credit, with more available credit being better (which is why you should never close out open credit cards unless they are costing you money). Length of credit history is also important, looking at the last time you used a credit account, history etc. To keep this up, use your cards sparingly but regularly, for example, if you have the money for a $50 purchase, use one of your recently unused credit cards for the purchase, put the money away, and then pay the bill when it comes in. This will also keep the account from going inactive and being closed by the company (see above - available credit). As time goes by, doing these things right will increase your credit score, but don't expect big jumps overnight.
